    Saving your AOL journal

Thanks to Kirsty for discovering a site that enables you to copy your whole journal into word format in one go. Download BackStreet Browser 3.1, it works very well. I have been writing this journal since August 2005 and it took two minutes to copy the lot!

    Thanks Kirsty

  • I wonder

    Now I wonder...........

Those who know me know that I have a great liking for jazz and especially female vocalists. If I listen to Clare Martin, Clare Teale, Karrin Allyson I am a happy man indeed.

If you read all the small print in my profile you will discover that its my birthday on November 29th, yes I will admit it I will be 57 this year. You can imagine my delight at discovering tonight that the fabulous Gwyneth Herbert is live at Pizza Express in Maidstone on November 22nd. OK its a week early but its my birthday after all! Trouble is tickets are like goldust and I am just hoping I manage to get one.

If you have never heard Gwyneth Herbert by the way check her out-you wont be disapointed!

Joe Baxi and is it a red onion or not? Do you know Joe Baxi? Thought not neither did I until recently. And how did I get to know him-well there was entry in the Metro newspaper the other day. Aparently a 19 year old girl rang directory enquiries looking for a number for a Joe Baxi. After being told that there was no record of such a person she replied 'Well its a cab innit' and was given the number of the local cabinet company who promptly arranged to have a cabinet delivered. When it was the girl asked the driver if he could give her a lift to Bristol Airport! To what level have we descended to when we have to describe things in slang and I have realised I am in the wrong job if a 19 year old thinks nothing of getting a taxi from London to Bristol. Went shopping in that supermarket that Mr Oliver works for the other day and one of the things I purchased was a red onion. When I got home I glanced at the receipt it had gone through as a baking potato! A couple of days later I had to visit another supermarket where my red grapes went through as red onions. What is happening to this world? Think its time I went into hibernation-anybody care to join me? Andy
  • Tis me again!

Had an unfortunate accident the other day. I always reckon to be a good or at least above average driver as I was taught to drive by a police driving instructor.

Anyway I was driving past one of our local secondary schools and this young gentleman stepped out from behind a bush into the path of the car. Lightening reaction by yours truly but I was still doing about 10 mph when I hit him. Now I am not easily shocked but I can still see, hear and feel his body hitting the car and its not a pleasant experience I can tell you.

Fortunately he only suffered cuts and bruises but never the less I think I can sum it up by saying that it was horrible for both of us.

  • Hello

Well you dont know me do you? Come to that I dont knoyou either!

I hope we can get to know each other in the coming days, months and years ahead.

So why is this blog called Redv Braces? Quite simple really, I mentioned to an on line friend of mine that in the past (long distant past) I used to be a skinhead and had all the gear. Happened to mention that my favourite part of being a skin was wearing the braces and also have a soft spot for ladies who wore them and guess what turned up on my doorstep a few days later! And guess what I like wearing them still!

Maybe I shoould place a lonely hearts ad Ex Skinhead wants to meet ex Skingirl to recall old times. Wonder if I would get any takers? Lets wait and see!

Anyway with the passage of time some of my tastes have changed especially musically and I am now very much into jazz and love the music of Gwyneth Herbert and Roberta Gambarini. Mind you as I am now 56 I suppose I am entitled to change my mind.

Anyway thats enough waffle from me for now, I intend to update this on a regular basis and look forward to hearing from you.

    Andy
